We were given a chance to shoot our friend’s ROM ceremony in May at The Fullerton. Thanks to illZ for the kind words and recommendation to Yiwen! It was a difficult decision as we had mixed feelings. We were excited by the opportunity but kind of worried at the proposal in the beginning and requested to just be the sub-photographer, as we have absolutely ZERO experience! However, in a turn of events, we eventually mustered enough courage to accept the challenge.
There was actually not much preparation time as ZY was still messing around with his FYP at that time. We had held talks with Yiwen mainly but finally got to meet her husband a few days before the ROM together with illZ (the emcee). That serves as a good pre-session to break the ice and familiarize with each other.
The actual day turned out to be pretty good. I was helping out with miscellaneous stuff and some of the object shots and certain shots which could have been stressing if ZY were to do it all by himself for the first time. All in all, it was a very rewarding and meaningful experience, especially when reviewing the work and feeling happy to have captured the joyous moments of an important day for the couple. We simply love the shots, I think we are viewing the slideshow probably more than they did….hahaha! And we are very happy to have made a couple of new friends from this event.
